In Detail
Inspired by one of the 9Dragons' story main characters, "The Vagabond" aka "The Nameless One", who is credited with ending the war of the Nine Dragons and being one of the few survivors, the character "Legend" was created for the first time in 2007, on Acclaim's official 9Dragons server, with the intention of keeping the character clanless as there was and is no level cap for characters who do not join a clan. Ironically, the person behind the character "Legend" only later came to know that "The Vagabond" is actually implemented in-game, and can be visited in the 4th floor of The Cave of The Conqueror. Soon after, along with a fan-fiction story of "Legend" being created, the character "Legend" became pinned as "The Son of The Vagabond" henceforth, and the character quickly became the main character of the player behind it.

Despite Acclaim's statements since 2006 that there would indeed be a Vagabond role/class, there never was any, and people's interest in playing a Vagabond was always low, especially at the beginning.

Eventually achieving a broad influence due to various reasons and facts, "Legend", pinning himself as "The Son of The Vagabond" since 2007, made the clanless path largely famous, and was altogether a big contributor for the rise of player's interest in playing Vagabond characters. However, he was neither the first nor the highest level Vagabond.

In 2008, "Legend" formed the very first 9Dragons Vagabond Guild together with "Vagrant", another Vagabond character who was the highest level Vagabond at that time, and with it the very first 9Dragons Vagabond Community (forum).

During his time on Acclaim, he, like many others, became increasingly disatisfied how poorly the game was cared for while the game and its players were milked for money as much as possible. This eventually lead to the joining of the ProjectAI blog, where many unpleasant facts about Acclaim, their staff and their leadership were revealed. At the end, it was "Legend" on the ProjectAI blog who informed the 9Dragons community of Acclaim's imminent closure, and with them their 9Dragons servers. Acclaim then informed their players about their closure only a day before they went offline in 2010, and that only in-game, with no official statement on their website.

After Acclaim's closure, GamersFirst took over the publishing rights for 9Dragons. Due to his experience of 9Dragons as well as experience as IRC Operator and moderating other message boards, "Legend" became an official forum moderator, and was given the chance to contribute to the game and the community. However, probably unwilling to handle such a messed up community, GamersFirst didn't renew their 9Dragons publishing rights after a year, and ended their 9Dragons services in 2011.

After GamesCampus took over the publishing rights for 9Dragons, "Legend" was pretty tired of mostly wasting his energy and effort trying to improve the state of the game and the community. Working his ass off only to eventually lose his character(s) and all achievements over and over again was also a big factor leading him to permanently move to private servers.

"Legend" came to exist on many servers thoughout the years, official as well as private servers, like Acclaim, GamersFirst, GamesCampus, RedFox, Play9D, Elysium, Eclipse and Era.

Throughout the years, the person behind "Legend" kept coming back to his vagabond gameplay and fan-fiction story, and his writing skills and story quality kept improving immensely, as he also worked on other movie and book projects in his life.

In 2019, "Legend" joined Eclipse, and through his massive experience both in 9Dragons and the Vagabond path, he soon became part of "Eclipse Feedback Leader". In 2021, however, after the server being wiped for no reason and thus killing the server, as well as lots of dirt being uncovered about the server owner and the staff, "Legend" eventually left the "Eclipse Feedback Leader" team, and soon after the server itself.

After leaving Eclipse and looking for a new 9Dragons private server to call home, he soon found 9D Era, which had a good reputation. After joining 9D Era on discord, he soon was able to contribute ideas and visions for a real in-game "Vagabond" role/class, which is currently in the works. Let's call his role "Creative Assistant for the Vagabond Role & Content" for now. "Legend" soon became discord moderator as well as forum moderator on 9D Era, and soon after Administrator.

After about two months, the 9D Era staff and Legend had a disagreement, which then escalated.
»If they want to play power games, even though they're not my boss, and the vagabond content is just a collaboration between us, they have another thing coming.«

Their official statement was "There will be no Vagabond content implemented since Legend left as we are not taking his ideas anymore"

They made it sound like Legend left Era because they didn't take his ideas anymore, while in fact Legend didn't give them the rights to use his ideas anymore after he chose to leave. Sounds better than "we had a disagreement, Legend left, and we have no rights to use his ideas anymore"... Although it is sad that it had to come to this - because it could have been an amazing thing - it was a good thing, though, that this happened before Legend's ideas were implemented, and not after. It made Legend realize that they would have dropped him as soon as they'd be dissatisfied. Also, Legend just wasted 2 months of WoW subscription with working for Era for free.

And so the time came to finally leave 9Dragons for good, and moving on to other games...
